This simple recipe can be found right on the back of the bag for Ghirardelli chocolate chips. These cookies turn out great every time we make them and we have made a lot of these cookies.
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened
- ¾ cup Sugar
- ¾ cup Brown Sugar Packed
- 2 Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla
- 2 ¼ cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions
- Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat butter with sugar, and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy and lightened in color.
- Add eggs and vanilla, one at a time. Mix on low speed until incorporated.
- Gradually blend dry mixture into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before scooping onto the cookie sheets.
- Heat oven to 375ºF.
- Drop the dough by the tablespoon or #60 serving scoop onto parchment paper lined cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until chocolate chip cookies are golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool for 2-3 minutes before transferring them to cooling racks.

You can add 1 cup of chopped nuts at the same time you add in the chocolate chips if you like nuts in your cookies.
