These savory Japanese pancakes are a recipe made for the Blackstone Griddle, traditionally they would be cooked on a teppan or table top griddle. These light fluffy pancakes are filled with shredded cabbage and any number of other ingredients you would like. Known as Osaka Soul Food or Japanese Pizza, these pancakes can be filled and topped with just about any topping you can think of. The name okonomiyaki translates as:
Okonomi – “As you like it”
Yaki – “Grilled”

This easy recipe is all about the marinade. Simple to put together, this marinade adds a great flavor to already flavorful flanken cut short ribs. Like many of the recipes I make, these are great for a party as the marinade can be done a day ahead of time and the ribs grill up quickly.

Tomato Soup
I don’t know if there is a better comfort food combination than tomato soup and a nice gooey, buttery grilled cheese. This tomato soup recipe is really easy and the grilled cheese is a bonus. The acid in the soup is a perfect complement to the richness of the butter and cheese in the sandwich.

Sticky Asian Chicken Wings
These sticky, salty, sweet, Asian chicken wings are my take on wings I had growing up at a Chinese restaurant in Warwick, Rhode Island. This recipe comes close to The Islander’s wings, but it is not perfect. I will probably be posting an update in the future as I refine the recipe.
